1.3 Nothing on this website should be read as an offer or a promise of treatment. Whether any treatment described here is suitable for you can only be established through a clinical assessment.

4. Urgent and emergency care

4.1 Appointments are available Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, and some evenings and weekends by arrangement. This practice does not provide urgent or out-of-hours care. A pre-booked evening or weekend appointment is not emergency cover. Enquiries sent outside our hours are not monitored and may not be read until the next working day.

4.2 If you have a medical emergency — including chest pain, breathlessness, collapse, severe or sudden abdominal pain, a suspected allergic reaction, or a sudden severe headache or weakness — call 999 or go to your nearest emergency department. Do not wait for a reply from us.

4.3 If you need urgent medical help or advice but it is not an emergency, contact NHS 111 (online at 111.nhs.uk, or by telephone on 111) or your own GP.

4.4 Do not use this website, email or text message to report an urgent clinical problem. These channels are not a route to urgent care and are not monitored continuously.

5. Prescription-only medication

5.1 Some of the treatments described on this website involve prescription-only medication.

5.2 Prescription-only medication is issued only following a clinical assessment by Dr Kavadas, and only where she judges it to be clinically appropriate. It is not available on request, and it is not suitable for everyone.

5.3 Descriptions of medicines on this website are general information about how a medicine is used. They are not a substitute for the patient information leaflet supplied with your medicine, or for the instructions you are given as part of your own care.

5.4 Where this website names a medicine, it does not follow that the medicine is in stock, currently available, or appropriate for you. Availability of weight loss medication changes, and prescribing decisions are made at assessment and at each review.

6. Weight management and outcomes

6.1 The pages on this website about excess weight, obesity, and how weight loss treatment works are general information. They describe how treatment is approached in this practice. They are not a statement that any of it is appropriate for you.

6.2 Suitability for weight loss treatment is determined only by clinical assessment, taking account of your medical history, your current health, your medication and, where relevant, your blood results. It is not determined by anything you read here, and it is not determined by a calculated figure such as BMI.

6.3 Treatment is not appropriate for everyone. There are people for whom prescription weight loss medication is unsuitable or unsafe, and an assessment may conclude that treatment should not go ahead.

6.4 Individual response to treatment varies considerably. Any outcomes, ranges or timescales described on this website are general information drawn from published evidence. They are not a prediction of your result and not a guarantee of any amount of weight loss.

6.5 Weight loss treatment is provided alongside changes to eating, activity and other aspects of health. It is not a substitute for them.

7. Blood testing and results

7.1 Where this website describes a baseline screen or an advanced screen, that description is indicative of a standard screen. The exact assays performed in your case are determined by the clinician, based on your history, your symptoms and the purpose of the test.

7.2 Blood results are interpreted in the clinical context of the individual patient. Reference ranges vary between laboratories, and a result outside a reference range is not by itself a diagnosis.

7.3 This website does not interpret results and should not be used to interpret your own. Discuss your results with the clinician who requested them.

7.4 Blood testing offered by this practice is for the purposes described on this website. It is not a general health screen and it does not exclude illness that has not been tested for.

8. Prices

8.1 Any prices shown on this website are correct at the date stated on the relevant page and are subject to change.

8.2 Prices are for the service described and do not include anything not listed. The cost of a course of treatment depends on the treatment plan agreed with you following assessment.

8.3 The cost of medication depends on the medicine prescribed and the dose you are taking, both of which may change during treatment.

9. Interactive features and self-assessment tools

9.1 Our website includes features that allow you to contact us and to book appointments.

9.2 You acknowledge that, because of the limited nature of communication through our website's interactive features, any assistance you may receive using them is likely to be incomplete and may even be misleading.

9.3 Any assistance you may receive using our website's interactive features does not constitute specific advice and accordingly should not be relied upon without further independent confirmation.

9.4 Our website includes a body mass index and waist-to-height ratio calculator. It is a general information tool. It performs an arithmetic calculation on figures you enter and nothing more. It is not a medical assessment, the result is not a diagnosis, and it is not a basis for starting, stopping or changing any medication.

9.5 The classifications used by that calculator are population-level screening categories published in national guidance. They are interpreted differently depending on age, family background, muscle mass, pregnancy and other clinical factors, and they are not a measure of an individual's health. The calculator is not intended for anyone under 18 or for use during pregnancy.

9.6 Figures you enter into the calculator are not stored by us and are not transmitted to us. The calculation is performed in your own browser.
