Weight loss treatment prices
What treatment costs at Medical Weight Care, set out in full — appointment fees, medication dose by dose, and what your total would be at each stage. There is no subscription and no package to buy up front. You pay for the appointments you have, and for medication only where it is prescribed.
How your costs work
Your cost each month is made up of two things: an appointment fee and the cost of your medication. The appointment fee reduces as you progress. The medication cost depends on your dose.
1
Getting started — month 1
3
Settled on treatment — from around 6 months
Your initial consultation at £135, plus your first four-week supply of medication. The consultation covers a full medical assessment, a lifestyle medicine assessment looking at diet, activity, sleep and stress, a discussion of your options and a personalised treatment plan.
2
Finding the right dose — roughly months 2 to 6
4
If your treatment is stable, we can move to reviews every two months or longer. Reviews are still £75, and in the months between them a £35 prescription fee applies. Because reviews are less frequent, your average monthly cost falls.
Target Weight Management — usually after around a year
A review appointment every four weeks at £75, plus your medication. This is the most closely monitored phase, when we adjust your dose if needed and check how you are responding.
Once you have reached a stable weight and are maintaining it, the £35 prescription fee replaces the review fee entirely. It covers advice, support, ongoing care and consultations as and when you need them, alongside your medication.
While we are prescribing for you, you are welcome to contact the doctor between appointments at any stage, and there is no additional charge for this.

The £35 prescription fee applies from around six months onwards, in any month when medication is prescribed and no review is due. Until you reach Target Weight Management, any additional consultation you need is charged at the £75 review fee. Injections are sent in temperature-controlled packaging at no extra cost, and medication can be provided in clinic if you attend in person. Nutrition screen blood tests are priced separately, and those prices are being confirmed.
Either screen can be taken by the doctor in clinic, or by a fingerprick kit sent to you if you would rather not have a needle — the price is the same whichever you choose. The advanced screen is more complete when the sample is taken in clinic, so if that is the one you need, the doctor will talk it through with you first. Blood tests are only arranged where they are clinically needed, and if you have recent results from your GP or elsewhere we will review those instead. Anything more specialised than these two screens — hormone panels, men’s or women’s health profiles, or a comprehensive wellbeing check — is arranged through our sister clinic, Medical Wellness.

Figures assume the lowest starting dose and a review every four weeks. From around six months your costs fall, as reviews become less frequent and the £35 prescription fee applies in between. Delivery, sharps box and blood tests are not included.
Medication, dose by dose
All medication prices are for a four-week supply, except Wegovy tablets and Foundayo, which are priced per 30-day supply. In your first month, add the £135 initial consultation to the medication cost instead of a review fee.

Wegovy tablets were licensed in the UK for weight management in June 2026. Tablets are taken once daily, first thing in the morning, at least 30 minutes before any food, drink or other medication — taking them with food substantially reduces how well they work.

Foundayo (orforglipron) was licensed in the UK in August 2026 as a once-daily tablet, and is priced per 30-day pack of 30 tablets. It can be taken at any time of day, with or without food. Like the other medications on this page it is prescription-only and suitable only for some people.
An important note about doses
The tables above show what each dose costs. They are not a schedule you are expected to follow.
You do not have to increase your dose every four weeks. Increases depend entirely on how you respond, and many patients stay on lower doses for long periods.
You do not need to reach the highest dose. Many patients achieve excellent results without it.
If you stay on a lower dose, your costs stay lower too.
Questions about cost
Is the tablet or the injection better for me?
Wegovy tablets and the Wegovy injection contain the same medicine. Foundayo is a different tablet medicine that can be taken at any time of day, with or without food. Which suits you better depends on your routine, how you feel about injections and how you respond to treatment. We will discuss it at your consultation.
Can I switch between treatments?
In many cases, yes. If a treatment is not suiting you, we can discuss the alternatives at a review appointment.
How long do patients usually stay on treatment?
This varies. Some patients use medication for several months, others continue for longer depending on their goals and progress.
Will I need blood tests?
Some patients do, before starting or during treatment. There are two screens — a baseline screen at £130 covering kidney function, liver function, thyroid, blood sugar and cholesterol, and an advanced screen at £220, which adds vitamin levels, iron studies and markers of inflammation. Which one is appropriate is a clinical decision, and we will always tell you which you need and what it costs before anything is booked. If you have had bloods done recently, we will review those instead and you are not charged for repeating them. Testing beyond these two screens is arranged through our sister clinic, Medical Wellness.
Do I have to have blood taken with a needle?
No. Either screen can be done by fingerprick instead, with a kit sent directly to you, and it costs the same as having the sample taken in clinic. One thing worth knowing before you choose: the advanced screen is more complete when the sample is taken in clinic. If that is the screen you need, the doctor will explain what the difference means for you before anything is booked.
How do I pay?
No payment is taken when you book — the booking calendars will not ask you for a card. You can pay in clinic at your appointment if you are seen in person, or we email you an invoice with a payment link so you can pay by card in your own time. Bank transfer details are on the invoice if you would rather not pay by card. We ask for 24 hours’ notice to cancel an appointment, or the full cost of the consultation is charged.
Can I get a refund on medication?
Once medication has been dispensed to you it cannot be returned or refunded, for safety reasons. If there is a fault with a pen or device, contact us and we will take it up with the manufacturer directly on your behalf. Nothing here affects your legal rights in respect of goods that are faulty or not as described.
Will I get support between appointments?
Yes, while we are prescribing for you. You are welcome to contact the doctor by message or telephone between appointments if you need advice or support, and there is no additional charge for this. A one-off assessment, or a support appointment where we are not prescribing for you, covers that appointment itself.
